This switch is mounted beside of the carburetor. You will find the wiring

diagram in the shop manual. 3 units are envolved:

- the starter switch itself

- the starter relay which is located just behind the battery

- the Parking lock switch above the steering column.


The switch can be engaged only if-

- the transmission is in "N" or "P"

- the generator produces no current (means engine is not running)

- there is no vacuum in the intake manifold (this is regulated by the ball

in the starter switch)

- the accelerator pedal is pressed down and the ignition is on the

"on" position
